The MAC Address of the FrameScope Pro is displayed in the
MAC Address box. Usually the box contains the factory default
value. But this field can be used to change the MAC address if
this is necessary for a specific case or to meet the security
requirements.
The MAC address can be reset to the factory default on the next
power-on as described in “Restoring the Default MAC Address”
on page 188.
There are two types of addresses for the Test Port Settings.
• If PPPoE is selected, you must type in the user name,
password, domain, and service name for the PPPoE after you
press Next for the screen shown below.
CAUTION
MAC address modification is not advisable. If a modification is
unavoidable, the changes should be done with extreme care so that it will
not conflict with any MAC address that is in use.
NOTE
PPPoE has no manual configuration of the IP address, subnet mask, or
default gateway.
