
Signal Studio N7615A/B for 802.16
WiMAX is a Windows based utility
that simplifi es the creation of
standards-based or customized 802.16
WiMAX waveforms. The Signal Studio
software is used to confi gure the mo-
bile WiMAX (OFDMA) signal and its
parameters are downloaded into the
ESG or MXG signal generator, that cre-
ates the desired waveform.
All demonstrations are done using the
P-Series power meter and vector
signal generator. Keystrokes
surrounded by [ ] represents front
panel hardkeys, while keystrokes
surrounded by { } represents softkeys
on display.

Establish a communication link with the ESG vector signal generator:
1. Preset the ESG. [Preset]
2. Check the IP address. [Utility] {GPIB/RS-232/LAN} {LAN
Setup}
* if connect to network, click {LAN
Confi g} {DHCP}
* if direct connection from PC to ESG,
click {LAN Confi g } {Manual},
e.g. {IP address 192.168.100.1}
3. Run the Agilent Signal Studio for
802.16 WiMAX.
Double-click on the 802.16 WiMAX
shortcut on the desktop or access the
program via Windows start menu.
4. Verify that the software is
communicating with the
instrument via the LAN TCP/IP
link.
From the {System} pull-down menu at
the top of the Signal Studio program
windows, select {Change Hardware
Connections} {Next}, select [LAN]
and enter the host name or IP ad-
dress of the ESG in the address area.
Finally, click {Test I/O Connection}
{Next}.
5. After performing this operation, the
software should return success
under connection status.
If this is the case, click {Finish}. If this
is not the case, re-verify the instru-
ment connection as well as the IP
address or TCP/IP link.
