FM Path Offset Calibration

Description

This calibration is used to remove the offsets associated with the various FM1 and FM2 audio paths on the

A18 Reference. When FM is enabled, voltage offsets on the A18 Reference and A17 Synthesizer

(Option 501, 502, 503, 504) appear as frequency shifts on the synthesizer VCO. By using a frequency counter

to measure the frequency of the VCO, the voltage offsets can be quantified. The voltage offsets are adjusted

and stored in the signal generator’s firmware.

Required Test Equipment

• Agilent 53132A Option 050 frequency counter

Procedure

1. Connect the equipment as shown above.

2. Preset all of the equipment.

3. Follow the instructions as they appear on the controller’s display.
